How To Do A Pedicure
The Pedicure Experience
A touch of eucalyptus will make your room smell just like a spa - burn some
in candle form or a potpurri burner.
Have a few friends in and do each others feet - have a pamper the ladies
evening once a month!
How To Do A
Pedicure
- Give your feet a good deep cleaning.
Place your chair behind a clean, wide bucket filled with hot water. For your
foot comfort fold a bath towel into a square and place it at the bottom of the
bucket.
Dissolve 1/2 cup of epsom salts or the equivalent epsom salts tablet into the
hot water. Epsom salts are a natural disinfectant.
Get comfy and soak your feet for 5 minutes, then rest them on the edge of the
bucket.
- Dip a foot file, in the water, use it to smooth your heels, the balls of
your feet and the outsides of your pinkie toes, then pat your feet dry.
- Push your cuticles back with the edge of your nail file, then use a nail
brush dipped in an exfoliating scrub to clean the area where your nail meets
your skin. Do not attempt to get rid of your cuticles. Only a professional in a
salon should do cuticle removal so you don't end up with ingrown toenails.
- Rinse your feet in your bucket and dry. Massage moisturizing foot lotion
into your feet and then wash away any moisturizer from your nails with soap and
water.
- Foam toe seperators will make your nail polish job easier. Apply one coat
of base coat, two coats of color and one coat of top coat - they same routine
the pro's use.
- Use a Q-tip moistened with nail-polish remover to remove any polish that
misses your nail target.
- Salons always suggest that you apply one coat of top coat three days after
your pedicure, then every third day after that to keep polish from chipping.
